Duplicating/Mailroom Printing Services

An assessment was done in Fall 2015 with a survey instrument developed with assistance from the Planning, Research and Institutional Effectiveness office. In general satisfaction of printing and mail services is very high. Ninety-two percent of respondents indicated that either agreed or strongly agreed with the statement "Overall, I am satisfied with the services provided by Printing and Mail Services. Five of the six questions indicated that at least 90% of the respondents agreed with the positive statements about Print and Mail Services. In the comments section, the majority of the positive comments indicated high satisfaction with timeliness of services. Also, the staff’s professionalism and friendliness was commended frequently.

Because the questions did not separate Mail and Print services, the same results are duplicated on the both Mail and Duplicating activity assessments.

A couple areas of focus for the next two years:

1. Improvement on the sustainability program outcome. Need to identify and implement processes that minmimize existing practices' impact to the environment.

2. Continue to find ways to minimize costs.

Duplicating/Mailroom Campus Directory

As of Fall 2015 the campus directory service is no longer provided by the Duplicating Department.

We wil modify our program plan to not include the CAmpus Directory as an activity.

Tutoring Tutoring Center website updated annually

We have two current CIS student tutors who are updating our website. Their technology experience, mixed with their understanding of students and Tutoring Services, makes them perfect for this task. They are looking at other colleges' websites and other social media to determine what needs to appear on the website.

We're actively working to keep the website updated and more effective for students.

It is definitely worth the effort to go out to Freshman Seminar classes so that they can learn about our Tutoring Services, as well as letting them know that they can be tutors in the Tutoring Center.

Puente Mentoring

Would identify a process to help train mentors on their level of envolvement with students with the goal being consistent guidance provided to each student.

Puente Counseling

Although we can always improve the ways we help students, the Puente Project is doing a good job of helping students navigate the system. Research proves that the Puente Project is more sucessful with the population of students than those students not in the program with the same population.

Ideally, we would like to see a dedicated space for the Puente Project program where students could have study groups, dedicated computers with printers, staffing to assist and have a sense of community.  In addition, there needs to be a succession process for when faculty retire wish to rotate out.

Finding a dedicated space, requiring coordination with campus.  Also finding faculty who would be interested in taking on the Puente Project coordination, teaching of Human Career Developement 310 and 132, and English Writing 101 and 300.

Outreach Information Desk and Lobby Staffing

Lobby operations continue to run smoothly with the addition of outreach support and signage. Our efforts extend to the Elk Grove Center, as well. We will continue to support student onboarding in this way.
